Who is Black + White?
We are a full service telecommunications provider, in the industry we are also known as an MVNO – Mobile Virtual Network Operator and we are one of the first of its kind in New Zealand. We have our own sales and marketing team, billing engine and contact centre the only thing we don’t own is the underlying mobile or fixed line network. We buy access to a mobile network which gives us 97% coverage of the places Kiwi's live, work and play plus global roaming in 215 destinations.
As an MVNO we are in good company the Virgin Mobile businesses in the UK, USA and Australia are MVNOs.
First off, you aren’t a customer at Black + White, you are a MEMBER.The difference between being a member and a customer is that members join up because we're offering a smart choice, not because there’s no other choice.

How we work
Here at Black + White we believe in flexibility. We aren’t into yoga or anything like that but we are into letting you control your mobile phone bill, that’s why we have made fundamental changes to the way we treat you.
It all began in 2007 with a small team of very experienced entrepreneurs who wanted to see more competition in New Zealand mobile communications. We made our first live call in February 2008 and ran some testing with a small group of users until we launched in October 2008.
Since then we have been building our membership by the 1000’s with some very Black + White radio and TV advertising.
The Future
Black + White is here to stay. We are dedicated to providing New Zealanders with cheaper mobile phones and even cheaper calling rates. We will always aim to be at the forefront of change, New Zealanders have been too long ignored by the mighty. With our great plans and prices combined with superior human touch we will stand tall and continue to pioneer New Zealand mobile communications.
